A.R.Rahman was honored by NDTV as among the 25 Greatest Global Living Legends

''Ella Pugazhum Iraivanukke'' - says A.R.Rahman, again

Dec 15, 2013

Isai Puyal A.R.Rahman is the pride of the Indian music scene and he has earned worldwide recognition for his exploits. Still, he remembers his roots and never forgets to thank God (as he did at the Oscars when he said Ella Pugazhum Iraivanukke after winning) and the people of Tamil Nadu for their unflinching love and support towards his work. At the recent NDTV gala event to honor the 25 Greatest Global Living Legends, where Rahman was also naturally honored, ARR echoed a similar thought when he came up to deliver his short acceptance speech.

"Ella Pugazhum Iraivanukke. I am humbled by this group. I thank my state Tamil Nadu, which has encouraged me so much. I also thank my mom and all my spiritual, music and school teachers. I have a long way to go and to do many things such as music education, changing many things if God allows me to do it. Being an Indian, is a great blessing. God bless"
