When Vijayakanth helped Ilayathalapathy Vijay

The event prepared to launch Captain Vijayakanth’s son Shanmugapandian saw some of the industry’s heavyweights gather to bless and wish the young upcoming hero.

Speaking at the event, Vijay’s father and noted director and producer, S.A.Chandrasekhar recalled that even he had lost a lot of money in Vijay’s debut film Nalaiya Theerpu. He felt then that it would be best for his son to pair up with an established hero for his next film and so he decided to request Vijayakanth for his support in that project.

SAC remembered that Vijayakanth had immediately turned up at the director’s house and had readily agreed to do the film that we now know as Sendhoorapandi. SAC went further to reveal that Vijayakanth had worked in that film absolutely free of cost too.

Prabhu Ganesan announced that his family would always be there to support Vijayakanth’s family as a mark of respect for Captain’s affection towards Sivaji Ganesan. K.S. Ravikumar said that he was close to directing Shanmugapandian’s debut but couldn’t do it due to prior commitments and wished the new director all the best in his venture.

Shanmugapandian will be launched in a film titled Sagaptham directed by D.E. Santhosh Kumar Rajan and the actor had received congratulatory messages from Superstar Rajinikanth, Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Suriya.
