Nandita Das would soon start work on Santosh Sivan’s next film, which would be in collaboration with Hollywood production house. The film is tentatively titled Kairali and has Lal (of Siddique Lal fame) as the hero. The English film has been shot on lush location in Kerala and deals with the experiences of foreign tourists while traveling in India. The film also has Rahul Bose, Thilakan and Inderjit in the cast. Sivan’s previous film, Anantabhadram, a story set in the medieval period won many State awards including one for best cinematography. With Kairali, could it be a shot at the Oscars, Mr. Sivan?
