The music of AR Rahman for Amir Khan’s The
Rising and Rang De Basanti was simply superb.
There is no gainsaying that. The guy puts his
heart and soul into his work. How come people
who work hard get taken for a ride sometimes?
For The Rising, the legend was paid only 15% of
what he was promised. And the amount was to go
to Prague Orchestra. It is more than a couple
of months since the movie hit the screen and the
producer, Bobby Bedi is yet to pay Rahman his
due. In fact, the producer had told in an interview
that he had recovered more than he had invested
from the film. Why was then Rahman left unpaid?
The producer now says that he thought that Rahman
had already been paid and that too a lot.
