either with some controversy, or sometimes,
even with murder, which happened in the Jessica
Lal case. |

This time, it is popular bhangra
singer Daler Mehndi’s brother,
also a singer, Mika Singh’s
turn to fall headlong into a “party
kissing” controversy. Recently,
while celebrating his birthday a
Someplace Else, Bobby Deol’s
restaurant in Andheri, Mumbai, Mika
reportedly got carried away with
Rakhi Sawant, popular “item”
number girl, who gave him a friendly
peck on the cheek and went on to
smear some birthday cake on his
face. Mika, completely capitalizing
on the situation, turned right around
and locked Rakhi in a passionate
kiss, which Rakhi claims “outraged
her modesty”.

Eye
witness accounts say that Sawant came
for the party with her brother Shaizwood
and manager Abhishek Awasthi at about
11:30pm, when she presented Mika with
a peck on his cheek and is said to
have proclaimed “I love you,
Mika”, and then gone on to smear
some cake on his face, which is when
the infamous kiss happened.
Sawant is said to have left in anger,
only to return later with a group
of her friends. Things quickly turned
ugly as fights broke out, with the
police arriving on the scene. Sawant
filed a case at the Oshiwara police
station, demanding a public apology
from Mika.
Mika seems to be in Delhi at the moment,
with the police awaiting his return,
while they are also investigating
the matter further. Mika, in the meantime,
has apologized on national television
through the telephone. Daler on the
other hand is being noncommittal by
condemning “party kissing”
and saying that this is a matter that
needs to be sorted out between Mika
and Sawant.
