Much like applying to any of the IIMs
and IITs in the country, thousands
of applications came pouring in, and
finally ten were selected. While a
few years back, such huge numbers
would have been unheard of, today's
filmmaking process and pace probably
allows room to fit in such numbers.
Mani Ratnam is not to be left far
behind, as he has actually chosen
15 assistants for his film Guru! Working
with such large numbers can be quite
a task, but Mani Ratnam, who is known
for his meticulous planning, has chalked
out a plan for his 15 sishyas as well.
Mani's associate, Azagham Perumal
has actually trained them all for
a couple of weeks, before they begin
work on the sets.
