What is with heroines and
the pull of item numbers?
Well, one reason is probably
the glamour element involved
and the other, of course,
is the instant popularity.
So, it came as quite a surprise
when Nayantara actually announced
that she wouldn’t do
item numbers anymore, after
the rather sorry figure (literally
too!) she cut in Ghajini,
directed by AR Murugadoss.
This young actress, who is
gaining in popularity by the
day, had done two item numbers
before – one in Ghajini
and one in Sivakasi.

the stupendous success of both songs,
offers came pouring in, though Nayantara
was vary about accepting any of them
after her bad experience with the Ghajini
song. |

But what does one do when the opportunity
that comes knocking on your door for
a film with the Superstar of Tollywood,
Chiranjeevi? Nothing, you simply accept
and that is exactly what Nayantara
has done. She quickly took back her
resolution against item numbers, and
the latest news doing the rounds is
Nayantara’s item number for
Chiranjeevi’s latest venture,
Stalin.
Now the irony of the whole situation
is that, Stalin is being directed
by the same AR Murugadoss, who made
Ghajini and the film where Nayan had
a problem. Sources tell us that Nayantara
has been offered quite a large sum
for the song in Stalin, and the Telugu
audience is eagerly awaiting the film
as well as the song.
