| The
lure of Kodambakkam is irresistible especially
when you are a teenager wanting to make
it big. Many youngsters including girls,
run away from their homes in the countryside,
come to Kodambakkam and try their luck.
Only one in a million succeed. That, however,
does not deter the young hearts. |

|
One
such young person is Siraj Nisha,
a girl from Coimbatore. But the time
she selected to come to Chennai was
a wrong one—the aftermath of
Mumbai blasts. That took her straight
to the police station.
Siraj, in a burka, landed in Chennai
and was loitering on the platforms
of the Central Station when Inspector
Ezhumalai, on duty, ran into her.
Suspicions aroused, he stopped her
and made enquiries. When she quibbled,
he took her to the GH Police Station.

Interrogation
revealed that she was a good singer and
wanted to make it big in Kodambakkam. She
came with plans of meeting the Superstar
and seek his help to get a break. She sang
songs for the police, songs of Ilaya Raja,
Chithra and S Janaki to prove that she was
earnest. She even sought the help of the
police to get her a break.
The police summoned her parents from Coimbatore
and handed the girl back to them. |
