Not
something that happens very often,
maybe such a thing has happened never
before. Rajini, the gentleman in Tamil
cinema being summoned to court; surely
the matter must be something serious.
Not at all, in fact he has very little
to do with the matter that the court
will be deliberating upon.
It
all started like this. The Sivaji team was at
the Chennai airport in the wee hours of Monday
(5th) waiting to board a Lufthansa flight to USA.
In the queue for some clearance purpose were Siva
and his sister Uma of Millenium Softwares. Their
ticket had actually been purchased for the 3rd
of February but they were unable to undertake
the journey because of ill health. They were seeking
their tickets to be transferred to the flight
on the 5th. However the airline authorities did
not agree and demanded an additional amount to
transfer the tickets to the current date. Siva
and Uma were unwilling to pay the amount and have
by this time lodged a formal complaint against
the airline authorities in the consumer court.
As destiny would have it Rajini was in the same
line as Uma and Siva and was a witness to all
that happened. In their statement, Siva and Uma
have mentioned Rajini as one of the persons who
had seen the incident at close quarters. So it
seems quite possible that Rajini will be asked
to appear in court as a witness in this case.
Of course, all this only after the Sivaji unit
returns after wrapping up the schedule. The Superstar
has not done anything wrong here but the headline
is: ‘Rajini may be summoned to court’.
The price of fame!
