Sneha is caught in a controversy
that is snowballing into a major
religious issue. The actress has
visited the Thiruvannamalai Temple
and also participated in the Girivalam
that the temple is famous for. The
girivalam is a 14 km walk around
the temple. Apparently, as per the
religious faith and temple rules,
the devotees are to walk the entire
stretch barefoot. However, the actress,
said to be suffering from a leg
ailment, has been advised by her
doctors to use a slipper at all
times. Due to this, the actress
was seen walking with her slippers
on during the Girivalam. According
to Sneha, she uses a special slipper
made of cloth while visiting the
temples and she had done so during
the girivalam.
A religious group Hanuman Sena has
taken offense to this and has held
several protests in Vellore.
