The critically acclaimed Bollywood
film A Wednesday is being remade
in Tamil titled as Unnaipol Oruvan
with Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal in
the lead. This film is directed
by Chakri. From what we gather from
a few of the Unnaipol Oruvan stills,
we see a marked difference from
its original version.
While in the Hindi version the four
actors that play the terrorist role
were not identified with any religious
affiliation in relation to their
physical appearance, in the Tamil
version all the four terrorists
are shown to be in different get
up each attributed to one religion.
Probably Kamal wants the audience
to know that religion and terrorism
are not interrelated.
