Speaking about his former assistant, Shankar
said that Ilankannan was a very obedient
assistant to him and also had a very subtle
sense of humor. His light hearted talk used
to relieve the tension on the sets many
times, especially during the making of Mudhalvan.
Dharani also spoke and said that the trailer
itself gave an idea about how good the film
would be. The comedy scenes seem to have
come out very well. He added that the very
first glimpse of a movie always was an inkling
of its potential, that was what struck him
when he first watched Okkadu which he then
remade in Tamil as Ghilli. He said that
he felt something similar when watching
the Telugu version of this movie. He also
appreciated Ravikrishna's performance.
Others present at the function were Lingusaamy,
R.K. Selvamani, Narain, Manobala, KRG, Pattiyal
Shekhar and 'Alibaba' Krishna. Other prominent
faces were Durai Dayanidhi and Kanja Karuppu
whose witty speech regaled everyone present.
