Director denies belittling women police
May 21, 2009

A complaint has been lodged with the Commissioner of Police to ensure that a Karagattam dance by the heroine and others in Vedigundu Murugesan is disparaging the image of the women police. The director of Vedigundu Murugesan, Moorthy, explained that the scene in the film where women police dance Karagattam was not intended to show them in bad light. Moorthy added that he had no intention to belittle the women police in any way.

Yet another complaint against the film is the use of the title Vedigundu Murugesan. The director said that though the title has violence in it, the film is an out and out comedy.
