Kalaignerin Ponner Sankar is all
set to be made into a movie by Thiagarajan.
Thiagarajan’s son Prashanth
will be seen in a dual role after
Jeans in this venture. The characters
will be known as Ponner and Sankar.
For the past one year, the pre-production
work was going on and the storyboard,
costume design and set designs were
all finalized for the project.
The film will kick start on July
12, 2009 at Valluvar Kottam and
none other than the story writer
and the honorable Chief Minister
M Karunanidhi will preside over
the function and switch the camera
to start the shooting.
A massive temple, lake and palaces
have been created in the Valluvar
Kottam complex for this historical
project.
The star cast also includes Napoleon,
Sathyaraj, Raj Kiran, Vijayakumar,
Vadivelu, Riyaz Khan, Ponvannan,
Kushboo, Seetha, Manorama, Sriranjani,
Pragathi, and Kalai Rani. Around
5000 junior artists will work in
this project.
Visual effects will be created by
special programmers. The jewelry
used in the movie will be of real
gold, it is said.
Kollywood circles claim that a film
of this magnitude has not been attempted
in the last 40 years.
