Birthday bash on the sets of Dasavatharam? |

The
talented, vivacious, and pretty lady
of Tamil and Telugu screens Asin turned
a year older today. Nope, no question
of revealing the age though. One would
imagine a birthday party with blaring
music and loads of cocktails on the
occasion. However, the effervescent
young star, on the other hand, will
be busy shooting for her Dasavatharam
opposite Kamal at the AVM studios. |

B’day plans
Any plans for birthday?
None, she shrugs her shoulders
nonchalantly and chimes that
she would spend her quality
time with the children at an
undisclosed orphanage. She fears
the invasion of her privacy
by paparazzis and does not want
to divulge the name of the orphanage
that she intends to visit. I
love spending time with children
and will celebrate my birthday
with them. Noble way to celebrate
a birthday, we opined. On the
cards, there is another program
arranged by an FM station for
which she is a brand ambassador.
She would be on air chatting
with her fans answering their
questions and accepting their
birthday wishes.

Asin
seems to have no other preparations
on her birthday. She is most likely
to confine her cake cutting ceremony
in the sets of Dasavatharam at the
cost of the Producer, Oscar Ravichandran.
She is expecting a huge cake though.
Well, that is not too much to ask. |

Career in Movies
Asin - whose full
name is Asin Thottumkal –
debuted with Narendran Magan
Jeyaganthan Vaga in her mother
tongue Malayalam under the auspices
of the director Sathyan Andhikkad.
She played the second heroine
and the movie did not do well
as expected at the box office.
However, she tasted her success
with her Telugu debut Amma Nanna
O Tamila Ammayi that was later
remade into Tamil as M Kumaran,
S/o. Mahalakshmi. The movie
eventually served as a successful
launch pad for her career in
Tamil, which continued, with
Gajini, Maja, and Sivakasi.

She
has paired up with most of the youngsters
in Tamil cinema such as Surya, Ajith,
Vikram, and Vijay. She is equally
busy in Telugu too and is currently
busy shooting for Annavaram opposite
Pawan Kalyan. She seemed to be picky
about the role she selects to pay.
She turned down an offer from Surya
for his Sillunu Oru Kadhal for the
role played by Bhoomika stating that
she had little to perform. It later
turned out that her judgment did not
fail her. |

Movie
is only a part of Asin’s
business though. She is a young
business entrepreneur and assists
her father in running his business.
Apart from that, she is also
a brand ambassador for numerous
products and her modeling life
has taken new turns with her
successful career in movies.
She
has enrolled herself for a bachelor’s
degree in English Literature
at St. Teresa's College, Kochi,
which is her hometown. Owing
to her assignments in Tamil
movies, Asin has relocated to
Chennai from Kochi.
