Wahab Riaz sets record for most expensive spell in CT history

Known for his menacing pace and ability to reverse the ball, Pakistani speedster Wahab Riaz grabbed the spotlight against India for the wrong reasons. The 31-year-old’s spell of 0-87 from 8.4 overs became the most expensive spell in the history of Champions Trophy. The record was previously held by Zimbabwe’s T Panyangara against England in 2004. Notably, Riaz was also taken off the field after he suffered a foot injury while bowling his 9th over.
