Election Commission on Wednesday reportedly informed the centre that the situation in the RK Nagar constituency has not improved to conduct the by-elections. The EC in a statement to Union government said, “After taking all relevant factors into account, the EC, hereby certifies that the process of by-election to RK Nagar constituency could not be held within the period contemplated in Section 151A of The Representation of the People Act.” Notably, the constituency is vacant for past six months.
