Veteran Parliamentarian and noted writer Era Sezhiyan died in Vellore, on Tuesday. He reportedly died after a brief illness at the age of 95. Born in Thanjavur district, Era Sezhiyan first elected to the Lok Sabha in 1962 on DMK ticket. Era Sezhiyan had quit active party politics in 2001. DMK's working president MK Stalin, Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister K. Palaniswami and several other leaders have condoled Era Sezhiyan's death.
