The long-awaited underground stretch of the Chennai Metro Rail has been reportedly opened on Sunday. According to reports, the route was inaugurated by Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu. Notably, the underground stretch runs along the inner periphery of North Chennai between Tirumangalam and Nehru Park.
