Tamil Movie Review : Maja
Maja - Vikram Asin
Director – Shafi
Starring – Vikram, Asin, Manivannan, Pasupathi
Producer – Rockline Venkatesh

Maja is the remake of the Malayalam movie Thomanum Makkalum directed by Shafi and it is his first film in Tamil. On seeing the movie spectators are enfolded with action, comedy, love, and emotion. Members of the family can sit together and enjoy this movie.

Vikram Asin pair has worked out delightfully and is entertaining the spectators to the core. In Tamilnadu 124 theatres have been booked and twenty theatres in Kerela . Since it is the remake of the Malayalam movie fewer theatres have been enrolled out for this movie.

Producer Rockline Venkatesh and Director Shafi have done a breathtaking job in shaping this movie to the interest of the audience. Maja is completely a different story and Vikram had not done such a stupendous role.

In Maja Vikram is a happy go guy with lot of fun packed with rowdisim. The composure of the movie is the village chosen in Pollachi and the dream world of Austria that has been admired by the viewers. Vikram is an illiterate person and an orphan,

taken care by an elderly person (Manivannan) along with Pasupathi. All of them indulge in gangism and notorious activities .The pros and cons of that moral fiber has to be seen through the movie which will be the gripping stage.

The story goes how both of them regret for their bad act and try to change themselves by seeking for a job to earn their living. They started earning with dedication and purchased a lorry. But unfortunately things got a turn, and the awful event changes them again to a different character. They shift to a different locality and events completely alter significantly (Watch Out).Turning point is the meeting of Asin, daughter of a rich land lord. The movie focuses on the difficulties Vikram had to face on accord of meeting Asin, and how Asins kindness wins him. The climax of how Asin Vikram comes together is the suspense for the audience to watch out.

Songs of Vidhyasagar is very soothing to the ear and the song sequences and the setting was really eye capturing. Raju Sundaram’s Choreography and Balu’s camera has really worked wonders. HEEY PANGALI song rear back to Dhool and is the talk among the youth but the most interesting song is the Romantic CHEE CHEE ENNA as the tunes are afresh in the minds of the audience and were singing as they had come out of the theatre.Asins role is out standing and the dance performance is excellent.

Shafi has done a great job in remaking Thommanum Makkalum into Maja. Let us wait and see whether it is ANNIYAN or MAJA that is going to make Vikram.
