was a big hit in Malayalam.

lucky director, Bala
to make the film in
Tamil. But Bala declined
saying that he was
not interested in
doing remakes. Meanwhile,

Mohan Natarajan
had approached Vikram
with a film titled Right.
Vikram declined and
he approached Vijay.
While Vijay has refused
because of heavy commitments,
he is said to have offered
the film to Ajith.
