Noted director Priyadarshan has been caught in a controversy for commenting that the tiff between Shah Rukh Khan and Shiv Sena was a publicity stunt to promote My Name is Khan. This comment was instrumental in many Bollywood celebrities putting the director in the block list of their mobile phones.

A disturbed Priyadarshan, sensing the trouble that he has got in, has now apologized for his comments. He said: “I was quoted out of context. I’d never speak like that about Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar. They’ve both been very nice to me. If I’ve hurt either of them, I apologize to them publicly, and would like to add that in any conflict between filmmakers and politicians, I’d naturally support my own fraternity.”
