The strike as planned by the Bollywood’s
producers and distributors commenced today.
(4.4.09). The profit sharing issue between
the producers and the multiplex owners is
the reason behind this strike. The producers
and distributors have been demanding a 50-50
share in the profits but this is not being
accepted by the multiplex owners. The indefinite
strike has several movies, including the big
budget ones, in the lurch.
Some of the films that may bear the brunt
are Jashn, New York, Short Kut, Sikandar and
Kal Kissne Dekha.
The Chairman of the United Forum for Bollywood
Producers and Distributors, Mukesh Bhatt said
that the strike which is being followed worldwide
will continue until the multiplex owners agree
to their demands. |
