Vadacurry is a film directed by Saravanarajan and produced by Meeka Entertainment. The film stars Jai and Swathi in the lead. Vadacurry introduces the composer duo of Vivek-Mervin who have scored four songs on this album. Yuvan Shankar Raja has contributed the track 'Uyirin Maeloru'.

Nenjukulla Nee
Singers: Ajesh Ashok, Diwakar, Vijay Prakash
Lyrics: Ponraj

Vivek-Mervin start on a friendly note with a lively folk song, which finds them in tune with the contemporary. The three male vocalists take turns to spruce up the tune with their energy levels while the composer duo attempts to distinguish themselves with their arrangements.

Low Aana Life-u
Singers: Andrea Jeremiah, Anirduh
Lyrics: Harish

Besides advertising Sunny Leone’s involvement in the project, the chorus may just interest her fans. At one point the lyric announces that the song is a given hit, but that doesn’t stop Vivek-Mervin from trying, as they find a rollicking groove in the second half of the tune.

Kelunganne Kelunga
Singers: Gana Bala
Lyrics: Lalithanand

The verses are a bit stretched but the part cynical, part philosophical lyrical content and Gana Bala’s voice keeps you engaged until the chorus where the track scores big. The composers display sure footedness with their orchestration even while toying with guitar solos and dance beats over a typical old fashioned gana arrangement.

Ullankaiyil Ennaivaiththu
Singers: Siddarth Mahadevan
Lyrics: Snehan

Dark piano notes set the tone and the mood for Shankar Mahadevan’s son, Siddharth, to make his Tamil debut. Vivek-Mervin double-bluff between dubstep and metal quite nicely. The surprising changeovers are well crafted. Siddharth's debut is distorted but the performance fits the bill perfectly.

Uyirin Maeloru Uyirvandhu
Singers: Priya Hemesh, Sathyan
Lyrics: Niranjan Bharathi

Yuvan’s contribution to ‘Vadacurry’ is easily identifiable as soon as the beats kick in. The melody is admirably mellow and feels like it would have been more pronounced without any backing percussions. A lightweight melody complimented by good singing from Sathyan and Priya Hemesh.

Verdict: Offers the contemporary favorites with a dash of difference.
