Kangaroo is an upcoming Tamil film starring Arjuna,Varsha and Ashwathi and Playback singer Srinivas is the debutant composer for the film. Here is an exclusive review of the album:

Penjakka
Singers: Shwetha Mohan
Lyrics: Vairamuthu

Beginning with feel good string section and Country style harmonica, the track irresistibly reminds us of recent  A.R.Rahman compositions.  Shwetha Mohan, a competent singer of melodious songs pulls this off with ease.  The vocal melody is tender and the presentation is gentle.

Electro Love
Singers: Sharanya Srinivas, Vijay Prakash
Lyrics: Vairamuthu

An electro style track arrives next with high energy levels. The trance beats with electric guitar touches, inspired from 'Fortunate Son', sound good. But the real interesting aspect of the track is the usage of percussions like mridangam and veena in the interludes.  The impact of electric guitar and good usage of percussions makes this a fun listen.

Ozhakku Nilave
Singers: Bibin Tuttu
Lyrics: Vairamuthu

A breezy lullaby with beautiful string section greets the listener with pleasing voice of Bibin Tuttu. The track has mellowed percussions with a haunting finishing touch for each line. The brilliance of the track is the great usage of Hindustani Instrument Saarangi –which is usually made best use for conveying heart wrenching emotions. The song has an irresistible folk flavor blended well with western styled orchestration. The best part arrives at the second interlude with the skilful fusion between electric guitar and harmonica in Carnatic Raaga moving between Shankarabharanam and Harikambhoji.

Thaayum Konja Kaalam
Singers: Hariharasudhan
Lyrics: Vairamuthu

A philosophical track based in the evergreen raga Sindhu Bhairavi which is admirably used by Carnatic Musicians. The vocalist Hariharasudhan does a great job in making it an empathetic track and the timely arrival of strings and beautiful guitar with kuthu styled percussions give it a crowd pleasing touch.

Theme Song
Singers: Srinivas
Lyrics: Vairamuthu

The mellowed down symphony welcomes the feel good guitar leading to the impactful voice of the composer himself- Srinivas.  The track has an eerie feeling throughout and it stands out mainly due to the solid voice of Srinivas.

Nenjukuzhi
Singers: Haricharan, Sharanya Srinivas
Lyrics: Vairamuthu

This track is a different version of Electro Love with great singing by both the vocalists with ease.  Apart from the vocalists and paced up tempo, most of the track sounds similar to its previous version.  However, this track scores better than the first version for what it offers.  The mixing was adeptly done in the second interlude as well.

Verdict: Kangaroo is a gentle and classy debut from Srinivas.
