Vijay’s Mersal has taken a massive opening and the film has released today (October 18, 2017) on the occasion of Diwali 2017. On this occasion, popular actor Sivakarthikeyan has wished the Mersal team and Vijay.
Sivakarthikeyan’s Tweet read, “Best wishes to #Mersal team for a big success @actorvijay sir @arrahman sir @Atlee_dir @AntonyLRuben @ThenandalFilms.” Atlee’s Mersal which has music by AR Rahman has an ensemble cast that includes Sathyaraj, SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha, Vadivelu and Nithya Menen.

Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal is all set to take a massive opening all over Tamil Nadu and also in a few other parts of the world. Most of the theatres in Tamil Nadu would be screening Mersal and the remaining theatres are likely to screen the other 2 Diwali releases Meyaadha Maan and Chennaiyil Oru Naal 2.
An interesting similarity between Meyaadha Maan and Chennaiyil Oru Naal 2 is that both the films are carrying Thalapathy references. Which means you could watch Vijay in all the 3 new releases for this Diwali.
