Producer Council and FEFSI come to terms regarding the film shoot and strike

The good news for Tamil cinema that everybody has been waiting to hear has come in. The Producer Council headed by Vishal and the FEFSI Union headed by RK Selvamani have come to terms and negotiations are happening with respect to film shoots and strikes related to them.

There had been a strike by the FEFSI Union recently and this had affected those people who depended on daily work at shoots for their wages. But now, both RK Selvamani and Vishal have had a 4-hour long discussion in the presence of the Producer Council and the FEFSI Union. Addressing the press and media post the discussion, RK Selvamani said:

Both the bodies have had a 4 hour long discussion and we have come to terms. Almost 90 percent of the problem is solved now. We did have our differences previously and it seems work better when the problem is put forth. The reason for the problem to crop up has been pointed out and has been looked into.

We had to find out where the problem started also. We did force each other to listen and we realised that both the bodies live because of this industry. It is our responsibility to foster this industry. We have decided to work hand in hand. There was a plan for a strike tomorrow (August 5, 2017) at Valluvar Kottam to solve the problems. But we will not strike and it has been called off as the problem seems to have been solved.

Mysskin to do another film with Vishal after Thupparivalan

Vishal, who is all geared up for the release of Thupparivalan, directed by Mysskin, has officially made a statement on his future Nadigar Sangam/Producer Council plans, and also about his experiences working in this Mysskin's directorial.

He says, "Unlike my other characters in previous films, Kaniyan Poongundran would be a sensible and silent character, who wouldn't speak much through dialogues. Thupparivalan would be a film on the lines of Sherlock Holmes. Also, for the first time in my career, there are no songs in my film, and I feel our audience is also getting mature and accepting to watch films without songs. Had I kept a song in the second half of this film, the audience would have got angry and blasted at me. There is just one theme song, which would come, during the flow of the movie. Action blocks would be the supreme USP of the film.

Mysskin had always wanted to change my body language, and he has done that through this film. There is an action sequence that takes place in a Chinese hotel, and that stunt scene would be one of the best highlights in the film. Anu Emmanuel plays a pick-pocket character. You would be able to recognize Bhagyaraj sir only in the third shot. This is a very big makeover for him, as he has donned a character with negative shades. Vinay is the main villain in the film.

Only when I did Avan Ivan, I got Pandiya Naadu, and only when I did Pandiya Naadu, I got Naan Sigappu Manithan. Likewise, after Thupparivalan, I hope new and fresh scripts come my way. Coming up next, I have Irumbu Thirai, Sandakozhi 2, Temper's Tamil remake, and all three are totally different films. Mysskin's next film will also be for my banner, Vishal Film Factory. The last twenty minutes of the film would be very exciting to watch.

I can't cheat the audience like helping the poor, through my films. If I had decided to focus on my salary, and the crores of money, the film industry wouldn't have been there. My sole focus, for now, is to bring our film industry to a better level. Without working for Nadigar Sangam or Producer Council, I could have acted and earned around 20 crores through that, but I do not want to do that."
