Music director Ilayaraja and Mani Ratnam share a deep creative bond and their collaboration has resulted in extraordinary cinematic and musical experiences to the audience in films like Idhayathai Thirudathey, Anjali, Agni Nakshathiram, Thalapathi, Mouna Ragam, Nayagan and Idhaya Kovil to name some.

Interestingly they share the same birthday, 2^nd June and today, they turn a year older. While Ilayaraja was born on 2^nd June in 1943, Mani Ratnam was born in 1956.

The two stalwarts of the industry have been the reason and inspiration behind many creative minds to enter the dream factory.
