Amitabh to pay tribute to Ilayaraja

Balki who made Cheeni Kum and Paa and the latest Shamitabh has a few constants in his films like for instance Amitabh Bachchan, P C Sreeram and Ilayaraja.

Now he has plans to organize an event to felicitate maestro Ilayaraja in Mumbai. This event on the 20^th of January would witness the presence of Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, P Suseela, S Janaki and many others.

Talking about the event, Balki says, “No music director has achieved the feat of doing more than 1000 films. If you don’t celebrate this accomplishment, it is an injustice not just to him but to the music world in its entirety. This event will have all the music directors from Mumbai. Amitabh will pay tribute to Raja sir because these two are the legends of cinema”.

“Raja sir has many fans in Mumbai and I think he has not performed there till now. I would like him to perform from Shamitabh. A lot of people want to pay respects to him and his music”, Balki adds.
