Bala to have it special for Ilayaraja

Bala’s Tharai Thappattai is about the various traditional art forms of Tamil Nadu. It also has an extra special highlight in being the 1000th film in the grand repertoire of Isaignani Ilayaraja.


Currently the film is being shot in a specially erected colony set near a lake in Tanjore, a place known for rich culture and heritage.


The unit sources aver that Ilayaraja has plans to visit the sets of Tharai Thappattai today, the 4th February. In honor of his visit, director Bala has arranged a special welcome reception for the maestro by the actual Tharai Thappattai groups from Tanjore who will play his favorite songs based on Tharai Thapattai rhythm to render a musical salutation to the legend. In addition, the maestro also will interact with the cast and crew of Tharai Thappattai and watch the shoot in progress.
