Jilla overcomes hurdles... Set for a big release

With every big release, arises a title issue and that seems to be today’s scenario. A certain R Mahendran of Soumita Sri Arts apparently filed a case with City Civil Court, Chennai against the release of Vijay starrer Jilla.
 

He allegedly claims that he had dubbed a Telugu film, Bageeratha starring Prakash Raj and Shriya and had titled it Jilla in Tamil. He also supposedly registered the title in 2008 with the Film and Television Producers Guild of South India and Mahendran apparently claims that he was shocked when he came to know from the newspapers that a film with the same title was releasing on January 10^th.
 

Mahendran requested the Court to issue a stay on the release of the movie and the hearing for the same hapenned today, 9th January 2014. Post the hearing, Jilla's producer Jiiva announced that everything was well and that the movie will hit screens tomorrow.
