Selfie forces Miss Iraq’s family to abandon the country – Here’s why

Miss Iraq Sarah Idan and her family were reportedly forced to escape from their country as they feared for their lives after a selfie which she took with Miss Israel Adar Gandelsman received a huge backlash, including death threats. Notably, Iraq and Israel have no diplomatic relations and are extremely hostile towards each other. Iraqis hence were offended by Miss Iraq’s selfie with Miss Israel and accused her of supporting the Israelis.
