21-year-old Padma, aka Badrakali of Tuticorin district set herself on fire after a failed love marriage. Padma had allegedly gotten married six months ago against her parent's wishes to her lover, Mohanraj. Reportedly, Mohanraj and his mother abused Padma for dowry, due to which she was forced to take refuge in her parent's house. On Tuesday morning, she poured kerosene and set herself on fire. According to reports, police have recovered a two-page letter she had written before her death. Allegedly, Padma wrote about how her husband was caring at the beginning and later started abusing her along with his mother. She had also mentioned that Mohanraj was allegedly close to another woman.
