The Director of the Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, S Balachandran said that the low-pressure area formed near Andaman is remaining in the same position and is expected to turn into a depression in the next 24 hours and move towards southern Andhra Pradesh and northern Tamil Nadu. Moderate rains can be expected across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, he added.
