The Union government has reportedly announced that the revenue collected through tolls across the country is Rs 16,365 crore, out of which Tamil Nadu alone collected Rs 1,756 crore.  Reports say, Tamil Nadu has 15 government toll plazas and 37 private toll plazas. Tamil Nadu has the second highest number of toll plazas and it collected the second highest revenue by means of toll plazas, across the country.
