According to reports, at least nine people were killed in an accident on the Trichy-Madurai national highway near Manaparai of Trichy on Wednesday. A group of 14 people from Nagercoil were travelling in a van to Tirupati of Andhra Pradesh, say reports. The van rammed the back of a borewell lorry. While eight people died on the spot, six others suffered serious injuries. One more man later died in the hospital, reports added.
