STERLITE PLANT, CAUVERY DISPUTE: STUDENTS PROTEST CONTINUES

Students of Mannargudi government arts college in Thiruvarur protested on Monday against the Centre for not constituting the Cauvery Management Board within six weeks as ordered by the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, VOC College students in Tuticorin continued protests on Monday against the Sterlite copper plant. People have been protesting against the plant for about 49 days now alleging environmental damage and health hazards due to the sulphur dioxide emitted from the plant.
