According to reports, an argument broke out between the paramilitary forces deployed in the RK Nagar and journalists who were there to cover the bypoll. Reports suggest that arguments broke out after the paramilitary personnel stopped them from entering the polling booths for taking pictures. When journalists told AIADMK candidate Madhusudhanan, he asked them to file a complaint with the Election Commission.
