Rains bring recess to Tamil Nadu from

What came as a breather to Tamil Nadu from Kathri veyil, the western districts of Tamil Nadu have been receiving rains for the last few days. Kodaikanal, Dindigul and Tiruppur have received good rainfall in the past one week. This has reportedly increased the inflow of water into reservoirs in western Tamil Nadu.

 

Reportedly, both Krishnagiri dam and the Mettur dam received inflow on Saturday. While water from Krishnagiri dam was released for summer crops, TN CM has issued a statement saying that water from Mettur dam will not be released on June 12.

 

According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, Erode, Nilgiris, Theni and Tiruppur received excess rainfall in the last two weeks. Whereas during the same period, there was no much rain or complete dry weather in Ariyalur, Chennai, Cuddalore, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts.
