A 27-year-old police constable employed in the Avadi battalion reportedly slipped and fell from the third floor of the Police Training College in Ashok Nagar while he was speaking on the phone. Reports say he slipped and fell off the handrail while climbing down a staircase on Wednesday. However, he was immediately rushed to the nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries and died. A case of accidental death has been registered and the police are investigating the matter.
