Periyar statue vandalised in Pudukkottai

According to reports, a Periyar statue in Pudukkottai Viduthi near Alangudi in Pudukkottai district was vandalised on Monday night by unidentified miscreants. People saw the head cut from the statue and dropped on the ground. On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and temporarily fixed the head on the statue. Police have reportedly launched a hunt for the unidentified persons.
