Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi’s (VCK) public relation officer B Puthiyavan was reportedly arrested by Cuddalore District police for making obscene posts about Tamil Nadu BJP President Tamilisai Soundararajan on Facebook. BJP's SC/ST wing lodged a complaint on Thursday that Puthiyavan posted a cartoon with derogatory comments on Tamilisai’s appearance. Following which, he was reportedly charged with criminal assault “on a woman with an intention to outrage her modesty” and criminal intimidation. He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody on Friday, reports say.
