According to reports, around 50 students, some from Jawaharlal Nehru University, protested outside the Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi on Wednesday. Train services in Mumbai were severely affected after Prakash Ambedkar, grandson of BR Ambedkar, called for a statewide bandh. Nearly 250 Dalit groups supported the call for the shutdown, say reports. The bandh was called after clashes erupted between Dalits and upper castes in Maharashtra.
