Hindu Makkal Katchi chief Arjun Sampath, in an exclusive with Behindwoods, advocated H Raja’s statement that Periyar’s statues in Tamil Nadu will be brought down just like the Lenin’s statue in Tripura. He said, “Periyar is an anti-Tamil; He called Tamil as the language of barbarians and instilled racism in the minds of people.” Stating that H Raja expressed his opinion, Sampath asked, “Why so much intolerance?” Raja is being threatened and isolated, he said adding, “Raja may back down, BJP may back down. But Arjun Sampath and Hindu Makkal Katchi will never back down. Political leaders like Vaiko and Thirumavalavan and Vaiko incite violence, but what action has been taken against them?" Sampath said.
