The famous Jallikattu event held on the occasion of Pongal reportedly started in Avaniyapuram in Madurai, on Sunday morning. The event is being conducted amid elaborate safety precautions; bull tamers participating in the event have been assigned with respective numbers and uniforms. Reports say, 14 people including a bull owner have been injured so far. Notably, this event is being held in the town after a gap of three years.
