Famous Tamil writer passes away in Chennai

Tamil writer Melanmai Ponnusamy, a Sahitya Akademi award winner, reportedly died of heart-attack in Chennai at the age of 66 on Monday morning. Ponnusamy has published five novels and a collection of 23 short stories. Reports say, his stories appeared in leading magazines like Kalki, Semmalar, Ananda Vikatan. He won the Sahitya Akademi award for his short-story collection ‘Minsara Poo’ in 2008.
