CHENNAI: RS 1 CRORE HAWALA MONEY SEIZED

The Times of India reports that the Chennai cops seized nearly Rs 1 crore of hawala money in cash from two people in Mannady and Sowcarpet.

One Sankaralingam was arrested by the cops on Friday for selling single digit lottery in Mannady and subsequently, Rs 3.8 lakh was seized from him.

Shashank Sai, deputy commissioner of Washermenpet, was quoted as saying that a total of nearly Rs 1 crore was seized and added that the enforcement directorate has been informed of the seizure.
