A blackbuck fawn, considered to be an endangered animal in India was found mauled to death inside the IIT Madras campus on January 22. Reports suggest that the fawn may have been attacked by stray dogs. An official from the Forest Department was quoted as saying, “We suspect that since the fawn was born early on Monday morning it might not have been able to run. When a few persons heading for work in the morning saw the carcass and informed us, we removed it.”
