Class IV girl rescued from marriage to 39-year-old in this TN district

A 9-year-old girl, studying in class IV from Trichy was reportedly rescued from a wedding that was supposed to be with a 39-year-old man. The girl was handed over to a children welfare home after she was rescued from her widow mother. However, the girl’s relatives claimed that it was only an engagement and the wedding would have happened only after the girl’s puberty.
