Following the failed negotiations in the Congress by both Democrat and Republican parties, most government facilities in the US except the essential facilities have been forced to shut down. Under the shutdown, federal agencies will be granted absence from work or be forced to work without pay until the new funding is approved by the Congress. Notably, the negotiation process on legislation for protection of undocumented immigrants led to the stand-off in the Congress.
